Brumby Elementary is a Title I school located in Mareitta, GA. Our STEM efforts initiated at the close of 2013-2014. Since our STEM inception we have seen great growth with the student's ability to problem solve and find a deeper understanding of the standards taught in their classrooms. They continually surpass our expectations with the quality of work they produce. Our vision is to become a STEM School. This means all students will participate in STEM learning regardless of the student population.
Brumby has been focused on incorporating STEM Education into our classrooms by adding 2 Math Labs and 2 Science labs that teach both their subject standards and STEM projects. All students K-5 go to these labs in a rotation throughout the year. Additionally, our school has quarterly STEM days where every classroom engages in an all day STEM project Challenge. These challenges are are standards based according to our scope and sequence. These lessons can be found on the "More" tab of this website. We have also had two Science Nights this year! We will be developing our STEM curriculum even more by adding a Family STEM Night in February and our new Elementary is Engineering curriculum into the labs and possible the rest of the core x rotation (specials).
